“Well today Tuesday 28th July 2026, a great bunch of men got together for our monthly Table of Knowledge mens Coffee morning. It is held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at the Union Kitchen cafe & Restaurant, Mindarie Marina, Mindarie WA. A great rollup this month, with a few regulars unable to make it, owing to holidays, Doctors appointments and recovering from surgeries.

What a fine bunch of men we have coming along on a regular basis. We were nearly at capacity, but of course, that is no problem for the wonderful owners that host our get togethers every month. We were truly blessed today to meet a beautiful lady, by the name of Sadie. She and her husband, Gary, are the owners and she was telling me they’ve recently had another beautiful boy, 9 weeks ago. The baby was in the cafe being looked after by her sister in law, niece and nephew! She admitted she had never heard the original Sadie The Cleaning Lady song until moving here. Of course sung by our own John Farnham..She shall be forgiven, she is British.

Our men had a great chat, catch up, solve many world problems and lots of war stories, all true of course.

Until we meet again on Tuesday 25th August 2026, take care gentleman.”

Today we’re celebrating a pretty special milestone..
10 years of our Head Chef Dave! 🎉👏

A whole decade of being the first one through the door in the morning and somehow still the last one to leave at night. Your work ethic, loyalty and dedication are second to none, and we honestly couldn’t be more grateful.

Over the last 10 years you’ve helped grow Union Kitchen into what it is today, but somewhere along the way you stopped being “the Head Chef” and became part of the family. You came to our wedding, we came to yours, and you’ve watched us become parents to two beautiful boys.

You’ve patiently turned my random “I’ve got an idea…” meal requests into actual dishes, survived Gary’s “constructive feedback” and somehow managed to smile through it all.

Union Kitchen simply wouldn’t be what it is without you. Your fingerprints are on every part of this business, and we’re incredibly lucky to have had you by our side for the past decade.

It’s been an absolute privilege to work alongside you, and we’re looking forward to squeezing at least another 10 years out of you… or whatever you’ve got left in the tank! 😂

Enjoy every minute of your well-earned long service leave, Dave. You’ve more than earned it. Thanks for everything. ❤️🙏

Wee update for all our regular customers that are asking after us. It’s been 4 weeks of our lovely Frank. He’s alert, content and super curious! Mum, Dad and both our boys are doing really great and we’re loving being a family of four! I’ll be down at Union to show him off in another few weeks. 🫶💙

We are reopening for night service and we are seeking an experienced, committed and talented chef to join our team.

Full time position starting August.

Hours are as follows:
Wed & Thursday: 7am - 3:30pm
Fri, Sat, Sun: 2pm - 10:30pm

Full Australian work rights essential; sorry no Visa applicants as this is an ongoing position.

Salary negotiable based on skills and experience ($70-80k).

💙 Franklin Obi Pereira 💙

Born on 24/5/26 weighing 3.93kg (8.1lbs).

After a gruelling pregnancy and traumatic labour, our beautiful boy redeemed it all by entering the world in record timing. From “ready to push” to in my arms - an astonishing 7 minutes!! 🤯💪 Managed to avoid a caesarean and had a healthy vaginal birth with no nasty tears or stitches needed! 👌

His face is a little squished from the super quick ejection into the world, but he’s absolutely perfect. Fred is besotted with his baby brother already. 😍

I’m riding the postpartum emotional rollercoaster and still processing the epidural complication which temporarily paralysed me up to my throat, so please allow me time to get back to all the messages. Gary is available for anything urgent.

Grateful for all the love and support we have as a newly family of FOUR! 🙏 🫶
