When I was eight years old, I ran away from home for the first time after my father beat me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I had almost no money.

To survive, I polished people’s shoes at a train station.

After working for hours, I finally earned enough to buy a juice, biriyani and a chicken sandwich. And enough so i can stay in a street bed for the night .

I had not eaten anything all day because I didnt have money.

Just as I sat down and was about to take my first bite, an very elderly homeless couple came to me and said:

“We have not eaten since yesterday.”

My first thought was simple:

“I have not eaten for 14 hours.

They have not eaten for more than 24.”

So I gave them the food.

Then I stood up and went back to polishing shoes.

That moment never left me.

It taught me that you do not need to be rich to give. However if i become rich - world will be up for a ride . 🙈

Sometimes the person with almost nothing understands generosity better than the person who has everything.

Today, 33 children and their parents came to receive free toys, clothes and other items they may not have been able to afford. ❤️

Seeing the happiness in the children’s eyes, and the quiet gratitude on the faces of their parents, made my entire day.

This is a different kind of happiness.

There is no true happiness in simply having more.

Real happiness lives in giving.

Many people spend their whole lives collecting money, possessions and comfort, only to understand near their final breath (the vary last second ) that none of it could match the joy of helping another human being.

The saddest part is that we do not get to come back and teach that lesson to our children.

So teach them now.

Teach them that kindness is wealth.

Teach them that giving is strength.

Teach them that another person’s smile can sometimes be worth more than anything money can buy.

Today, we gave away toys and clothes.

But those children gave us something greater in return.

They reminded us what true happiness looks like. ❤️

Somtimes i wish - if i could go back and sit on a bench and watch myself being a kid again. Then come back 😊

FREE KIDS’ TOYS, CLOTHES & GOODIES GIVEAWAY 🎁🧸👕

What a genuinely kind soul Amanda from Got Junk, Osborne Park is!

She took the time to sort through some great toys and children’s clothing, clean everything, organise it properly, and then bring us several bags of goodies to give away.

We have added even more toys, clothes and other useful items from our end.

Tomorrow at Crimea Park

From 11:00 am

Outside the Simon Says BNC food truck

You do not need to buy anything.

Come by and take a toy or two for your child if you genuinely need them.

Need shorts, shirts or other children’s clothing? Have a look and take what will be useful to your family.

Many items like these normally end up at op shops, where families then have to pay to buy them. This time, they are completely free.

We only ask for a little ethical honesty:

Please do not take things simply because they are free. Take what you genuinely need and leave something for another family.

Also, please do not arrive heavily under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 🤣 Yes, that sentence exists because apparently life keeps giving us bonus chapters nobody requested.

Everything will be displayed on tables outside our truck. Please keep the area tidy, return unwanted items to the correct table and do not leave the place looking as though a tornado went bargain hunting.

Our job is to collect, organise and present these items for families who need them.

Your job is very simple:

Take what you need.
Leave what you do not.
Do not destroy the display plz.

Our shop is open too till 8.30 pm.
Due to a family emergency one of the chef has to flew to another city - and another staff got sudden family dinner - so today shop has short staff during dinner -

We would be very grateful if you have bit patience while visiting our shop .

Also if you go to our shop - please ring the bell if you want to order - (it’s written there)
We run a small team ( and - no, not going to employ new staff at this stage because we don’t want to increase food prices, we want to monitor how war changes the prices of everything soon ) - so if you see staff/chefs are busy - then simply ring the bell and call them out - that’s the “common sense , non entitled way” 🤣
Don’t be like Nicole H - who came to our store between 12.30/12.45 yesterday .
My chef said to me via SMS - “what a mean lady “ and after checking cctv - I am glad that we did not sell our service to her. We do not want entitled customer like that - 🤣🤣
