A night at The Woodshed.

A restored room upstairs, produce grown just across the road, a cocktail before dinner, seven courses cooked entirely over fire, and a dining room you'll want to linger in long after the last plate.

On Thursday and Friday this week, we welcome artist to The Woodshed for our Charcoal Residency.

There is something deeply elemental about making the thing you create with - and that process begins beside the fire pit, whittling vine cuttings into handmade charcoal over glowing embers. The medium you craft on Thursday becomes what you draw with on Friday, in a morning workshop as unhurried and considered as the seven-course dinner that preceded it.

Final spaces remain. 20–21 August. Book via the link in bio.

A dinner at The Woodshed is not something that happens quickly.

It begins at six, and finds its own rhythm from there - moving through the courtyard, into the restaurant and out by the fire as the evening unfolds. Seven courses, good wine and the kind of atmosphere that makes four hours feel exactly right.

This is what dinner looks like when nobody is in a hurry.

The menu this week didn't travel far to reach you.

It began across the road, in the market garden, shaped by what the season is offering right now. Oscar takes it from there - seven courses built around produce grown and sourced with genuine care, cooked over an open fire and brought to the table with the kind of intention that only comes from knowing exactly where your food began.

Sit beside the fire pit with artist whittling vine cuttings by hand and watching them transform over glowing embers into the very medium you will draw with the following day. As the light fades, the focus shifts from the artist's fire to the chef's - seven courses prepared entirely over flame and brought directly from the hearth to your table.

Two days in the hinterland. Art and food, united by fire.

Elisabeth Berry Charcoal Residency. 20–21 August. Places are limited. Book via the link in bio.
