THIS DAY IN KALAMUNDA HISTORY 🎨

Twelve years ago today, some talented young artists from Kalamunda Senior High School were making their mark.

At the Outside the Frame Art Awards, Kalamunda SHS took out the $1,000 top school prize for the highest quality of artwork.

And it wasn't just one winning piece.

The award was determined by the school's overall success across six different categories — painting, drawing, prints, sculpture, textiles and digital media/photography.

A record 19 Perth schools took part in the 2014 exhibition, with Kalamunda edging out the competition to claim the top school honour.

Just another little piece of our local history — and a reminder that there's been plenty of artistic talent coming out of the Kalamunda Hills for a long time. 🎨👏

🇦🇺 "Vietnam Veterans Day — Lest We Forget"

Today marks "60 years since the Battle of Long Tan", and we take a moment to remember all Australians who served during the Vietnam War — particularly those who never made it home.

Our local community will gather this morning at the "Kalamunda War Memorial on Canning Road", with the Vietnam Veterans Day service commencing at **10:45am**.

To our veterans, their families, and all those whose lives were touched by the Vietnam War — we remember and thank you for your service.
