The Italian Festa & Expo 2026 opens its doors today.

Five stages are live. The piazzas are full of food, w**e, gelato, cannoli and enough pasta to feed all of Little Italy. The Vespa Heritage Collection is on display. Guy Grossi is in the building. The Discoteca Italiana runs until 10.30 tonight. And entry is FREE!

It started right here, on Lygon Street, in the mid-1950s, when the first espresso machine in Australia hissed to life in Carlton's Little Italy and changed everything.

Seventy years of coffee culture. Two days of Festa. We'll drink to that.

As the sun sets, Discoteca Italiana cranks up the heat with top-tier DJs dropping iconic beats. Over at the Birra Moretti B**r Garden, cold drinks and great vibes keep the energy sky-high. The Verrocchi Stage is buzzing, delicious eats are flowing, and the fiesta is in full swing!

It started right here in Carlton, in the mid-1950s, when the first espresso machine in Australia hissed to life in Little Italy and introduced a city to the short black. 70 years later, coffee on Lygon Street is still an event.

Eighty years ago, Vespa rolled out a scooter that changed how the world moves. Born in 1946 as a postwar marvel of Italian design, it still stops people in their tracks.

This October, the Italian Festa & Expo 2026 celebrates 80 years of this iconic scooter with a Vespa Heritage Collection inside the Royal Exhibition Building Gallery. Experience Italian design history from the very first model to today.
