**👥 Recent Staff Meeting Update**
At our recent staff meeting, we welcomed some new team members and also took some time to look back at how far we’ve come at Lip’s Kitchen.
We started with a conversation about something we hope our team will never have to experience — what happens if a business doesn’t make it.
Things can change and turn upside down in many different ways. But the main reason we had this conversation was to remind everyone that Lip’s has come this far because of **our amazing customers**, and because of the many Bowen local young people who have contributed to Lip’s over the years.
The equipment we have today, the team spirit, the discipline, the standards and the guidelines we follow didn’t just happen. They have been built by many people working together over the years.
That’s why we keep having staff meetings, talking, improving and passing things on to the next generation of our team. We want our team to understand that if a business ever goes under, it’s not only customers that are lost. So much of what people have built, believed in and contributed to can be lost too.
Of course, this is simply a **worst-case scenario**, and we sincerely hope none of our team ever has to experience it in their lifetime. ❤️
We also shared some of the wonderful compliments and feedback we’ve received from our customers.
These compliments are something we are extremely proud of — but more importantly, they are something we need to **keep working hard to maintain**.
You can’t buy this kind of recognition with money, and you can’t get it just by knowing the right people. It comes from the effort, teamwork and attitude our team members have contributed every day.
⭐ One star is special. But many stars can light the way.
Chef Foo also shared a little story with the team.
He said that **one shining star in a dark night sky is unique and special**. But when you have a whole group of shining stars together, something completely different happens.
Together, they can form a constellation — something people can recognise and use as a guide.
For centuries, stars have helped sailors find their way across the ocean. When a sailor is lost in the darkness, those stars can help point them in the right direction and guide them towards where they want to go.
Chef Foo’s wish is that **every one of our team members will become a shining star one day**.
Not only to find their own way, but to become someone who can guide others too — helping those who may feel lost, and also helping others move towards where they want to be.
We hope our senior team members will become those stars for our juniors, just as others once did for them. ⭐
And then came two important questions… 👀
At the end of the meeting, Chef Foo stood up and asked all our junior team members:
**“Are you willing to respect and listen to our senior team members and supervisors in the same way you respect Chef Foo and Connie?”**
Thankfully, we got a big **YES!** 🙌
So Chef Foo then turned to our four senior team members and asked:
**“Are you willing to teach, guide and support our junior and new team members, just like the previous generation did for you?”**
And once again, we got a **YES!** ❤️
That was a very special moment for us.
Chef Foo and Connie are incredibly grateful for all the amazing team members who have been part of Lip’s Kitchen — past and present. What they have built together has helped create the team we have today.
Now, we’re looking forward to seeing our senior team members step up, pass on their knowledge and take some of the pressure and responsibility from our new supervisors.
