La Maison du Croissant now known as Café de Paris has been established since 2011. Marc Banville has been providing Harare and its visitors, with exceptional handmade quality French croissants, pastries and baguettes. He now has a delightful venue at number 47 Churchill Road, Alexander Park, Harare, where one can enjoy a sit down coffee/cappucino and French pastries throughout the day, as well as delightful light lunches with healthy salads, paninis and even a Côte de boeuf for 2. He hopes to continue offering a true and authentic taste of France to the local community, and all those who visit or transit the capital.

Marc's ovens are taking the day off too, so if a baguette emergency feels imminent, swing by today and stock up. No shortcuts, no substitutes, just very good bread waiting for you before we shut the doors.

We'll have the coffee machine warmed up and a table saved for you when we're back open Wednesday. Come as you are 🫶

Every croissant starts long before sunrise. 🥐

Marc learned this craft in Paris, the kind of technique that doesn't come from a recipe card, it comes from years of feel. Knowing when the butter is exactly right. Knowing how the dough should sound when you fold it.

Layer by layer, fold by fold, that's what makes a croissant shatter the way it should when you bite in. No shortcuts. No substitutes. Just the same method his teachers used, brought all the way from Paris to Harare.
