Karoo Proviant welcomes the Petite Opera Festival, a celebration of South African opera's rich heritage, set amidst the breathtaking backdrop of the Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden. The weekend festivities commence with a dinner on Friday evening, featuring dishes inspired by recipes cherished by legendary South African opera figures.The opening evening's dinner includes vintage LP listening on a 1981 Pioneer turntable. On Saturday, indulge in a three-course meal, accompanied by an inspirational address about Opera Legends from Margaretha Deysel Stemmet's book, South African Envoys of Opera, followed by the book's launch and a special presentation by the acclaimed soprano Margaretha Deysel Stemmet. The festival culminates with an Italian Opera and Neapolitan songs concert featuring Jo-Nette Le Kay, Blaine Josephs, and Winand Grundling.
