Four reasons your basket matters at Floreer 🌱

🤝 Community first
Floreer is built for the people who grow, make, and enjoy the food rooted in local connection, not corporate extraction.

🍎 Real traceability
Every loaf, every litre, every apple has a story. We believe you should know where your food comes from and who produced it.

🌾 Honest transparency
No smoke and mirrors. Fair pricing, open conversations, and food you can trust.

💛 A better way forward
By buying local, you help grow a more resilient, fair, and connected food system for Eden.

The industrial food chain has become disconnected and fragile.
We believe food should nourish more than just hunger, it should nourish community, local farmers, health, and the land itself.

Thank you for choosing local.
Thank you for helping us grow something extraordinary together.

Eden’s future is ours to grow.

Where does your meat come from?

If you buy your meat from a supermarket, chances are the animals were raised within a highly commercial production system 🍖 often involving routine interventions, supplementary feed, and pressure to reach commercially viable weights as efficiently as possible.

At Floreer, meat is a passion project. We do things differently...

Our Groot Karoo Dorper Lamb comes from Suidland Farm in the Eastern Cape, where Farmer Ludolph raises his animals slowly, naturally, and with zero intervention. The animals roam freely on natural veld and are not supplemented at all.

We use the term veld reared intentionally 🥩 because how food is raised matters to us.

You’ll notice our prices are surprisingly competitive too.

And then there’s the taste: deeply savoury, clean, rich lamb the way many people remember it tasting years ago.

Our freezers are abundantly stocked.

Come for a coffee ☕️ and a little pantry shopping while you’re here.

Our home is your home.

At Floreer, we believe food is about more than just what’s on the plate. It’s about community, connection, and creating spaces where people feel at home.

That’s why we’re so excited to have the *Nutty Frenchies* permanently joining us on the deck from Thursdays to Sundays.

Serving authentic French-style buckwheat galettes, made the traditional way, their food is wholesome, flavourful, naturally gluten-free, and honestly… absolutely mouth-watering.

It’s the kind of food made with care, by real people, using real ingredients and that’s exactly the kind of collaboration we love being part of at Floreer.

Whether you’re craving something sweet or something savoury, there’s a little taste of France waiting for you on the deck.

Happy midweek, Online Family!

It’s the week after the storm...

Things are slowly settling, right? (We still don’t have power at home in Oliphantshoek, but are keenly aware electricity isn’t all there is to life!)

It’s been a mad but joyful few days as we unpack and recalibrate.

This one goes out to our vegetarian & vegan family...

We see you.

Floreer is a broad church. Our mission is to reimagine our local food system, in its entirety - and this includes meat.

🍃Fresh, organically grown fruit and vegetables have, from inception, been at the very heart of our work. And it will remain just so.

🌿 We have a specialised vegetarian kitchen at Fat Rabbit Farm, and a vegan one at Plant Based in Hoekwil.

🥬 We have dedicated fridge and freezer space to vegan and vegetarian food.

🌱 Our website tags these foods, with ingredients, so you know exactly what you’re buying.

🍃 We train our staff, continuously, for many of whom these concepts are culturally foreign.

🌾 Organically grown/certified grains and pulses are scarce to say the least. We are working on this with industry colleagues from a systems development perspective.

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT

Our lentil patties made by Clare Clark in the Kamanassie are vegan, gluten-free, and full of real, wholesome ingredients.

🌱 Rich in plant protein
🌱 High in fibre
🌱 Naturally iron-rich
🌱 Packed with slow, nourishing energy

We served ours Floreer-style with fresh avo, greens, and the kind of simple goodness we love gathering around the table for.

Comfort food that doesn’t try too hard. Honest, hearty, satisfying. Even for omnivores!

👉🏻 If you have a vegan or vegetarian product idea, brand, recipe and or know a local maker, please don’t hesitate to become involved at Floreer and help us grow and strengthen this category.

With plant love,

Team Floreer

Boer maak ’n plan 🇿🇦
We’ve got the small oven connected to the generator, which means fresh breads will keep coming out throughout the day 🌾

The Floreer family is here with warm coffee, comforting food, and a space to slow down for a little while as our community finds its footing again after the storm.

If you need a warm corner, a familiar face, or something nourishing to eat, come through.

And while you’re here, grab some local goodness for the week 🤍

There’s coffee… and then there’s coffee with a sense of place. ☕️

At Floreer, we don’t believe a cup should just fill a gap in your day. It should invite you to slow down, arrive properly, and reconnect with people, with place, with ritual.

Our new community hub is now pouring artisan coffee: rich, honest, beautifully balanced, and made to be part of the full Floreer experience. From the smell of freshly ground beans to that first deep sip, this is coffee worth lingering over.

Grab a takeaway on the run, or stay awhile in our community pantry and gathering space. Sit down. Exhale. Watch the world move a little slower for a change.

Come test the coffee.
Come experience Floreer.
