A Heritage weekend at Thyme Out.
Warm days with a few passing showers, which is perfect weather for a long lunch indoors. Chef has put together a weekend menu that leans proudly South African.
Chef's Weekend Choices
Battered Calamari Rings — R60
Calamari rings in our own oregano and cayenne batter, fried until crisp and served with a homemade tartar sauce of fresh dill, parsley and gherkin, and a wedge of lime.
Slow-Braised Oxtail — R285
Oxtail slow-braised in red w**e and tomato with baby onions, carrots, garlic, rosemary and fresh thyme until it falls from the bone. Served on creamy mashed potato.
Malva Pudding with Homemade Custard — R55
A warm South African classic. Sticky caramel sponge pudding, served with our homemade vanilla custard.

Biltong and Chutney Burger — R150
Our own beef patty under a creamy sauce of ground biltong, homemade mayonnaise, local apple chutney, lemon and parsley, with local Romano and white cheddar, our sweet-and-sour pickles and crisp lettuce. With chips or sweet potato crisps.
Teriyaki Beef Burger — R120
A homemade beef patty glazed in our own teriyaki sauce of soy, ginger, pineapple and a hint of chilli, with grilled pineapple, lettuce, tomato, homemade mayo and sesame seeds. With chips or sweet potato crisps.
Breakfast Burger — R95
A homemade beef and pork patty topped with fried onion, a soft fried egg and cheddar in a roll, with crisp bacon, grilled tomato and chips on the side.
