Here in St Francis, chokka is part of who we are.

The local species, Loligo reynaudii, has been caught along our coast for generations. What was once mainly used as bait became a thriving industry in the 1980s, earning the nickname “white gold” and becoming an important part of the local culture and cuisine.

And with the chokka boats based right here at Port St Francis, our little corner of the coast sits right in the heart of the story.

Clive & Samantha warmly welcome you to our revamped Chokka Block Restaurant!

For the past 9 years, we have been proudly serving our local community and visitors to the area. Before opening Chokka Block, we worked in the corporate seafood industry, where we gained valuable experience in sourcing and purchasing the finest ingredients, something we continue to be passionate about today.

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all our wonderful locals and visitors for your incredible support over the years. It truly means so much to us.

We are also incredibly proud of our fantastic team, both in the kitchen and front of house. Their dedication, hard work and commitment help us maintain the high standards we strive for every day.
