🖤We baked memories 🥺 Hogi themed cake🖤

Today's cake poem was extra special.

As many of you may have noticed, we have started creating poetry for kiddies cakes based on the meaning of their name. For little Ndalo, we chose to write the poem in Zulu, because some words carry a deeper meaning when expressed in our own language.

Ndalo means creation or nature...a beautiful reminder that children are gifts entrusted to us by the Creator.

I love how every name tells a story, and every cake becomes part of that story...we bake memories like this!!!!!

One of my favourite parts of cake decorating is making my own fondant decorations. 💕 There's something so satisfying about starting with a lump of fondant, shaping each little detail by hand, and then watching everything come together on the finished cake.

Don't get me wrong, it can be time-consuming, but seeing the final design exactly as I imagined it makes it all worth it. It's one of those moments that reminds me why I love what I do.

I'm curious though... fellow bakers, where do you stand on this? 🤔

🎂 Making your own fondant toppers and decorations from scratch, or
🛍️ Buying ready-made toppers and focusing your time elsewhere?
