PASTA CHEF WANTED — SOMERSET WEST

This is not just another kitchen job.

We’re looking for a serious Pasta Chef with a deep love for authentic Italian food and the skill, discipline and pride to match.

At Corlie’s, we believe simple food can be extraordinary — but only when the ingredients are excellent, the technique is right, and the person behind the plate genuinely cares.

We’re looking for someone who understands that great pasta is a craft.

YOU SHOULD KNOW YOUR WAY AROUND:
• Fresh pasta made from scratch
• Filled and shaped pastas
• Proper pasta doughs and hydration
• Classic Italian sauces and preparations
• Cooking pasta correctly and finishing it in the sauce
• Ingredient quality, balance and restraint
• Consistency during a busy service
• A clean, disciplined and organised kitchen

We are not looking for someone who simply has “pasta” somewhere on their CV.

We want a chef who is curious, obsessive about quality, proud of their craft and constantly trying to make the next plate better than the last.

Experience in a strong Italian kitchen or serious fresh-pasta environment will be a major advantage.

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in South Africa and able to provide the required documentation. References will be checked.

Shortlisted candidates should expect a practical cooking trial as part of the selection process.
