As our chapter at Avontuur comes to a close, we want to thank all the guests and friends who have been part of this journey over the years. Your support, loyalty, and the many moments shared around our tables have meant more to us than we can fully express.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to our team, past and present. Your dedication, pride, and hard work have shaped the restaurant into what it is, and we are incredibly grateful for the role each of you has played along the way.

It has been a privilege to be part of this space for so many years, and to welcome so many familiar faces through our doors. We would love to welcome you for a final meal before 12 May and to share these last weeks together.

The restaurant will continue under new management later in the year.

We will now be focusing on Elysium Eatery at Helderberg Village Walk, and we look forward to continuing the journey there.

We wish the estate every success as they take the restaurant forward.

Built by people. Led by Melanie and Zunia. Carried by a committed team. For over 20 years, Avontuur Restaurant has been a place for long lunches, celebrations and shared memories.

The restaurant will continue on the estate, with its final day under Openhand Catering on 11 May. After a short winter break and refresh, it will reopen later this year for a new chapter.

We invite you to join us while this chapter continues and stay tuned for what is next.

Over the last 24 years we have had a team who have showed up day after day and carried our business forward, often quietly, often without recognition, but always with consistency and care.

Behind every service was a group of individuals who took pride in what they were doing, whether in the kitchen or on the floor. It was never one person, and it was never effortless. It was built and sustained through shared responsibility, long hours, and a commitment to doing things properly.

What makes this team truly remarkable is how many of them have been part of the journey for over a two decades. In an industry where turnover is the norm, that kind of consistency is rare. It speaks to the environment that was created, and to the people themselves who chose to stay, contribute, and carry the restaurant through every season.

They are the reason our restaurant has been able to stand for as long as it has. The experience guests have had over the years has come directly from their effort, their standards, and their willingness to show up, service after service.

It feels important to acknowledge that this restaurant is, and always has been, the result of that collective effort.

Thank you to every member of our team, past and present, for everything you have given, and for the role you have played in making our dream into a reality.
