Eagles are shaped by the environments in which they hunt. The bald eagle and African fish eagle thrive near water, while the golden eagle patrols mountains and open landscapes. Harpy, Philippine and crowned eagles are powerful forest hunters adapted to navigating dense canopies. Steller’s sea eagle stands out for its massive beak and heavy build, while the martial eagle uses exceptional eyesight to locate prey across Africa’s open country.

A rare glimpse of the elusive Caracal

Known as the rooikat in Afrikaans, Caracals are secretive and predominantly solitary cats. Their striking black-tufted ears, powerful build and stealthy nature make them perfectly adapted hunters, and seeing one in the wild is a rare privilege.
