Pondo Zard - Day 3

On paper the last day from Mtentu to Port Edward was the easy one. A mere 26km and the tour was done. Except for the 18km of beach running, shark infested river crossings and a growing sense that these kinds of things have to be done on a regular basis.

Day 2 of Pondo Zard has team Milchards pull off a beast of a day with some topping off at 53km (poor navigation). Phenomenal effort including Skinny Cappuccino who refused to run the distance but rather completes to first ever trail walk in record time.

Chatting to Steve Black, there’s one thing that’s true for this coastline; it will take its pound of flesh and pint of blood but it’s so worth the effort to get out there.

If you’ve ever been to this part of the world, you know photos of any kind don’t do it justice.

Team Milchards kicked off our weekend run front Port St Johns to Port Edward. 105km of wild running with an epic crew.

Day 1 was a beast, harnessing our inner mountain goat it was scrambling and death defying cliff hopping.

Day 2 kicks of to Mtentu, 48km away. Mood this morning is subdued to say the least.
