Our Chef Calvin Metiors Oysters fresh from Mossel Bay arrived expecting the usual lemon squeeze and a quiet life.

Chef had other plans.

Enter: strawberry mignonette for a little sweetness, candied ginger for a cheeky kick, and lemon foam because sometimes lemons deserve to dress up too.

In the Upstairs Lounge at The Book Club Restaurant, guests gather to enjoy a thoughtfully curated selection of wines and seasonal bites by Chef Calvin Metior. Each pairing invited a moment to pause, savour, and connect — with the flavours, the wines, and one another.

The Book Club Restaurant is proud to be one of the first venues in the Overberg region to stock her wines, celebrating a long-standing connection between winemaker and table.Callan’s wines are as expressive as the music that inspires them — each one curated around her favourite singers, including icons like Stevie Nicks and Jim Morrison.
