The brownie pot.

Ever since I started baking brownies, this has been my go-to pot. I did eventually figure out that you can use the microwave too, but somehow I keep coming back to the stovetop and this faithful pot.

There is something comforting about the things that stay with you through every season. The tools, rhythms and little habits that may not look impressive from the outside, but quietly help you keep showing up.

This pot has seen a lot of chocolate, a lot of stirring, a lot of late nights and a lot of Crumbs and Cakes growth.

Sometimes faithfulness looks like coming back to the same pot and doing the next batch well.

Learning a new skill is not always exciting. Sometimes it looks like doing the same small thing over and over again, hoping this time it makes a little more sense.
Sourdough is teaching me patience, consistency and how to keep showing up even when the results are not perfect yet.

Every coil fold, every loaf, every 'not quite there yet' moment is still part of the process.

Here is your reminder: you don't have to be good at something to keep learning it.

The baker's second favourite cookie: Salted Dark Choc Chip.

I know they look a little different from your usual chocolate chip cookie, but don't let the look fool you. These are packed with an extra amount of dark chocolate, finished with just the right amount of Himalayan salt, and perfect for those midweek pick-me-ups.
