Yesterday my brother and I decided that we would go to Shoprite South Africa and buy some of the R5 deli meals which are freshly prepared every day. Ok not everything we bought was R5 but we bought everything they had in the range.
We also bought loaves of freshly baked bread and polony.
We drove around and found people who looked like a meal would help them. Surprisingly when you look, you see so many people.
There were 3 people that broke my heart.
A lady at the garage. After we gave her one of the parcels, she burst into tears. She thanked my brother and walked away. Then turned, looked at me, mouthed thank you and broke down again. Another man was lying on the grass in front of the church. My brother walked to him, gave him the parcel. That man got up thanked us, then dropped to his knees, took off his hat and just prayed. We also found a granny looking after a lot of kids. My brother went to her and spoke to her in Setswana nogal. Who knew he could even but ja now I know. We gave them everything we had left. Those kids were cheersing each other with the juices, completely happy.
Never forget how blessed we are. ShopRite is really making it easy to help spread kindness.
Hopefully this post inspires other to do it too. I was inspired by my new friend Olivia Viglatzis.
