One Arm. One Bike. One Powerful Message:

Hi, my name is Peet.
I’m a husband, dad of 3, proud grandfather of 11 grandkids, a businessman and an in-shoulder amputee.

In April 2023, my life changed overnight. I was hijacked and shot and I lost my right arm above the shoulder. Suddenly, everyday tasks like tying my shoes or making a sandwich became a challenge.

What gave me my life back was cycling.

Learning to ride again wasn’t easy, but it reminded me of something powerful — determination beats limitation every time.

I will be cycling from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town as part of a cycle tour to raise funds for Ubuko from 26 February to 5 March, finishing with the Cape Town Cycle Tour on 8 March.
This is not a casual ride — it means long days in the saddle, tough weather, early mornings and pushing through when quitting would be easier.

This ride is about raising awareness for people living with limb differences and showing that challenges do not define what is possible.

To make this journey possible and to share this message as widely as possible, I am raising R50,000 over the next 30 days.

Every donation — no matter the size — helps Ubuko get new prosthesis fitted.
Let’s turn this ride into something bigger than cycling. I want to change how disability is seen and remind people that life is about what you can do, not what you’ve lost.

My motto in life is: “Where challenges start, dreams begin.”
