What is Bushveld Terrace Lodge?

We get asked this question quite often, so let us explain.

Bushveld Terrace Lodge is our intimate, all-inclusive safari experience.

We’ve carefully planned each day around the best times to experience the Kruger. Your mornings and afternoons are spent exploring the park with one of our experienced guides, while the middle of the day is yours to enjoy – whether that’s unwinding with a spa treatment, relaxing by the pool or simply taking a well-earned siesta.

With only eight luxury suites, every stay feels personal. You’ll get to know the same friendly faces each day – your guide, chef, waiter, host and housekeeper – and they’ll soon get to know you too. Before long, your guide knows whether you’re hoping to find a leopard, photograph birds or simply soak up the beauty of the bush.

Every meal is included – brunch, high tea and dinner – with dinner served in different settings. One evening you might dine beneath a sky full of stars, the next in our elegant dining room.

Everything is taken care of, so all you have to do is relax, explore and enjoy your stay.

And yes… you’ll probably leave wonderfully overfed. 😉

If you’ve spent time in the Kruger, you’ve probably slowed down for a little dung beetle hard at work, carefully rolling its treasure across the road.

Somehow they always seem completely focused, weaving around stones, climbing over bumps and carrying on as though the rest of the world doesn’t exist.

The funny thing is, after watching one for a few minutes, elephant dung on the road isn’t just elephant dung anymore. You find yourself steering around it, smiling to yourself, because there might be a determined little dung beetle hard at work.

We often head into the Kruger hoping to see lions and elephants, but it’s moments like these that remind us there’s something fascinating around every corner.

Sometimes it’s the smallest creatures that leave the biggest impression.
