Zinziswa “Peggy” Mongoato is the Managing Director of Porky Chicks Braai and is the owner manager running the business on a day to day business. The idea behind Porky Chicks Braai was inspired by the entrepreneurial women who own their own braai businesses in the Cape Town townships including: Khayelitsha, Nyanga and Samora Machel. Peggy is a judicious individual, having completed her undergraduat
e degree in Theatre and Performance at the University of Cape Town. Her skills in the arts contribute to her ability to access customers and clients in a creative and differentiated way. Peggy is entrepreneurial in nature, and aims to combine her passion of creativity and people with her business ambitions. This has led her to explore extensively the hospitality industry, having completed a Tourism course, and has been employed in the hospitality sector in various roles within the food retail sub-sector.
