| There’s a certain kind of afternoon that only exists in the Cape Winelands. Long tables under trees, a bottle opened slowly, children running barefoot across the lawn, and the sound of wood fired pizzas making their way from the oven.

At The Shed at Vrymansfontein, weekends are intentionally unhurried. Gourmet pizzas, burgers from the fire, generous braai platters and cold glasses of Vondeling wine are served against uninterrupted views towards Simonsberg and Table Mountain.

It’s laidback, family friendly and quietly beautiful in the way only the Winelands can be. Please note: The Shed experience is weather dependent and best enjoyed on sunny days.

Please note that our kids’ adventure space will remain closed until further notice while we repair storm damage from a few weeks ago. The safety of our young guests always comes first.

In the meantime, the lawn in front of The Shed is still open for little ones to run freely, kick a ball, and enjoy the fresh country air.

Our Miso Cauliflower is currently stealing the show at Scape! 🌿✨

Roasted cauliflower and a rich miso puree, topped with our house-made almond chilli crisp (sourced straight from our own almond trees), a bright squeeze of fresh lime, and those addictive pickled red onions.

It's a dish that's got guests coming back, some order it to share, others indulge solo, and plenty sneak a portion home for one more bite later. Chef Tony absolutely nailed this one. 👏

Pairs beautifully with a glass of Vondeling Babiana – we’ve got a few older vintages on hand that have aged brilliantly.

✨New Year’s Eve at Vrymansfontein

We’re ringing in the new year across the farm, with something special happening at both of our restaurants. The Shed will be open for lunch and dinner, serving our classic Shed menu alongside a few festive drink specials, with live music by Brandon Baartman setting the tone until 19:00 - no entrance fee, just good food, good wine and easy summer energy.

As the evening unfolds, Scape takes over from 19:00 with a celebratory big bottle by-the-glass list, designed for shared revelry and late-night toasts along with our summer menu. R450 pp includes bubbles on arrival, canapés and live music until 22:00, and we’ll keep the doors open until 00:00 to welcome the new year together. 🥂🍾
