Things got a bit crazy over 2020! 1st we had to close over Feb while I recuperated from a motorbike accident and then we had Coronavirus with no certainty when it will end. However we haven’t been idle and we have opened a mini Shak in Eshowe and with an awesome tented camp experience at Sugarhill...

Burst water main and electricity substation problems.
Corona virus is one of the lesser problems at the moment!

We are open Sat & Sun, (weekdays by arrangements for groups),lunches only (as usual!) however with the current circumstances, please book as things change so rapidly we need to be able to stay in touch.
That said, we have wide open spaces and Tequila sanitizers!
but please observe the rules and be considerate of others.
A great spot if you have cabin fever!

Please note the Prawn Shak will be closed for the rest of Feb (the quiet Month!) for a little R&R (Rest and recuperation in this case) after my motorbike accident.

About Us

The Shak is a Mozam style Barracca vibe where you can kick off your shoes, chill in a hammock or dance on the tables. It’s slow food, made fresh, cooked on open fires with home baked breads and some quirky touches. Instead of one big meal (lacks variety, and gets cold quickly) we serve up a variety of small portions so that you can relax, snack and socialize.

Coupled with our beautiful surroundings, it’s the ideal way to catch up with old friends or just have a good party. So find a good spot, open a bottle of wine with a mate, gaze out into the distance and let your mind wander free.

It’s where an afternoon feels like a weekend.

Needless to say it’s also ideal for those special occasions as well as corporate functions, team builds and conferences.
