Since our announcement on Monday that we will be closing down during this month, we have received a lot of feedback from locals as to why our establishment has not gained much of the local support.

The main reasons stated are
• that the ambiance (chandeliers, curtains, furniture and table settings) are to formal for that the town wants & needs.
• the food served are very good, but the menu can be altered more towards what the local market requires.
• the bar is to small and can only cater to a small amount of people at a time, especially when there are sporting (rugby) events broadcasted.

We would really appreciate it if we can have the locals input as to the following chances we propose to make. This might serve us better in gaining more understanding of the locals as to generate support and establish us a valued asset to the local market.
• Changing the ambience inside by removing te aforementioned decor and replacing/revamping it with a more casual decor and furnature.
• Designing a menu that caters more towards a steakhouse comfort food setup with pricing accordingly. We will still deliver exceptional quality food at a more affordable price.
• Extend the bar area by including the current “empty boutique” by opening up an arch between the two, which will provide more seating area as well as a massive wall mounted television.
• Additionally we will also like to provide live entertainment on a monthly basis on Saturday evenings.

Your feedback will be much appreciated and enable us to make an informed decision on wheather this undertaking could be successful or not. Please leave your comments below.

It is with great sadness 🥹 that we have to announce that both “Steyn’s @ The Vic Restaurant” and “Peaky Blinders Cocktail Bar” will be closing at the end this month.

The dream of owning a restaurant & bar in the beautiful town of Montagu and becoming a valued addition to the trade has just not been financially viable.

We would like to thank all the accomdation establishments that send us their foreign & local tourist as well as our very loyal local patrons that give us a chance and supported us from day one🙏🏻. It was a honour and privilege to have been able to bring you my passion and cook for you from my sole.

As from today we will be having a “going out of business/ closing down sale” on everything on our food & drink menu.

All item on our menu has been discounted and we hope to be able to sell as much stock as possible as to meet our remaining financial obligations.

We will be open for lunch (12:00 till 15:00) & dinner (17:30 till 20:00) Sunday. For this special day we have put together a three coarse menu at R265pp.

All mothers will receive a complimentary glass of bubbly 🥂 on arival.
