Today was honestly one of the nicest days we have had in ages - what lovely guests!
We always say we have the best customers in the world- today reinforced that !
We had a farewell lunch for a lovely lady, Lebo, from Borwa Mega who is going on maternity leave.
An impromptu lunch for a corporate group who had been to a team building and just decided to come dine at The Godfather .(Please tell me where you are from- I didn’t get the names, but they were so much fun).

The Botha’s and family here from the UK who have been Godfather guests literally forever! ( read her story below)
Errol Brown’s daughter and the whole gang for her birthday.
Diby mailula for an anniversary dinner & his wife’s birthday- yes on the same day! Apparently he proposed to his wife at The old Godfather, so it was really nostalgic for them.

Mario Passetti & friends. Some friends who have been guests for years and a fabulous couple who were invited for their very first Godfather visit EVER!
Our special Ursula whose sister arrived from abroad and surprised their parents. I can’t believe I still haven’t learned how to add videos. 🙈

When you are just innocently conducting an interview and you get so rudely interrupted by a handsome young man with a gorgeous floral arrangement, you just take it on the chin. Thank you Fiori de Luso & Gloss & Go for this lovely treat: eye candy and flowers will make anyone’s day. ( he’s probably young enough to be my grandson, so even looking is inappropriate! But the waitresses on duty really appreciated the fun. )
Even the young man I was interviewing was blown away by how very special Midstream is.

They say ( those weather people and the morning radio people) there’s a heatwave predicted for this weekend. Now I’ve been praying for summer since autumn, so I’m sooo excited. And we are so prepared. The Evaporative coolers are waiting: cool air , no frizzy hair, and the absolute best cocktails, frozen and otherwise. And this is how things are in good weather. Our favourite people show up, drink cocktails, eat and kuier with friends. Isn’t this the best posed photo ever? Like these guys have been doing ads professionally, nê? . I love guests with personality, Naughty sense of humour and pizazz. Just saying, they bring out the wicked in me too.
So if you need a respite from the heat, some medicinal cocktails and a vibe, not to forget the magnificent sunsets at this time of year, The Godfather deck is worth checking out.

This is a really tough gig: a restaurant is only as good as the last plate of food one serves. It’s an every day challenge to keep standards, keep guests showing up, endless compliance and admin, keeping staff motivated and enthusiastic and trained. Anthony Bourdain was one of the absolute legends in the game and he was so spot on.
But the joy and blessings from happy guests is absolutely what keeps us getting up every single day and doing this with passion. When we get phone calls, comments from happy guests and the affirmation that feeds our souls, we can continue doing this forever.
