Last night we had so many special celebrations :these are just a few.
The Nieuwoudt’s enjoyed a romantic 25th anniversary dinner. ( also old Godfather guests, ) Juan Pieterse and his wife had their 14th anniversary dinner, and 4 of the 5 Steenkamp ladies were here for Annelies 50th birthday. They had seen the post about Steve’s sole and couldn’t find it on the menu, but it is absolutely available on our “ off the menu” items.
While chatting to them, it was apparent that there were so many similarities: Mrs Steenkamp has 4 daughters ( I am one of 4 daughters), she has 8 grandchildren, ( my mom had 8 grandchildren)
Of which 6 are boys and 2 are girls, the joy of her life( well guess what! My mom had 6 grandsons and 2 granddaughters 😱) . It was just so amazing. Then I said my mom was blessed to have 4 amazing sons in law and even loved her “son- outlaw ” (ex son- in-law, for those who don’t understand our lingo.) Yip! exactly ! I know, so bizarre.
I asked who was missing and they said sister #3! In my family that is me. So looks like I might have been a placeholder, doesn’t it. Hopefully we meet sister #3 at the next visit.
That’s what happens when I speak to people.

Love that guests phone to book and tell me they are coming specifically to have Steve’s sole! ( bad news guys, I already own Steve’s soul🤗) lame, I know! But what a massive delight to have Charmaine Myers and her family here to celebrate her 70th birthday, the most recent of many family gatherings. And she had what brings her joy, Steve’s sole. And it was absolutely perfect.luckily I caught them for a quick piccie as they were leaving. Many many more wonderful birthdays, Charmaine. Can’t wait for the next fabulous reason for a dinner.
Last night we had the absolutely splendid first wedding anniversary of a gorgeous couple, the Ross’s, who thankfully said they had better weather on their wedding day last year than they had yesterday. May this be the first of many amazing years together.
