Sundays are so special at The Godfather.
It’s a huge honour when people choose to have family get togethers, celebrations, reunions etc or just a super day with people they choose to be with.
Yesterday was no exception: the amazing blessing of the Goosen family celebrating Dylan’s birthday with all the family, in laws, church mentors and the new baby!
Two old friends, Wilma Bezuidenhout and Elsiebe Sequira meeting at The Godfather having not seen each other for 17 years ( if I remember correctly).
(And on that note, Zelda le Grange who has been a guest for many years, visited on Wednesday with her dear friend whose family, the De Necker’s have also been Godfather guests for many years)
As a couple were leaving, I got chatting further to them and they reminded me how we first met: a super special catch up with an amazing couple, the Coetzees, who a few years ago brought their son and his Fiancee for Sunday lunches when he was in step down following an horrific car accident, and seeing his incredible recovery and beautiful wedding ( by the grace of G-d and incredible parental and medical care)
That’s exactly what Sundays are about. People who like ( and love) each other breaking bread and sharing lives.
We love being the place you choose when life needs warmth, care, good food and love.
