Unique three-day mountain bike experience in the heart of the Karoo.

Ride The Karoo stage race takes place in the heart of the Karoo at Dwarsvlei farm 23-25 September. Each stage passes by historical 100-year-old stables and 200-year-old stone walls leading onto double lane “sheep tracks” while riding past familiar windpump scenes along the way. Experience authentic Karoo hospitality with braais, fresh farm bread, condensed milk coffee, koeksisters & craft beer amidst picturesque sunsets. Ride the Karoo is not about crossing the finish line as quickly as possible but rather about a riding experience like no other.

DAY 3 | ROUTE OVERVIEW | LAMB CATEGORY🐑
Distance: 36km | Elevation: 370m

Rocky terrain, breathtaking views and a journey towards the old Dwarsvlei siding, where a cappuccino and glorious views of Renosterberg await. ☕⛰️

Keep your eyes peeled for game along the way, before cruising the open gravel roads and passing the historic A.W. Barn, dating back to 1890.

One last ride. One last breath of Karoo air. One unforgettable finish. 🌾

DAY 3 | ROUTE OVERVIEW | RAM CATEGORY🌵
Distance: 46km | Elevation: 560m

Start with gravel roads and rocky terrain as you cross to a neighbouring farm, making your way to the old Dwarsvlei siding for a cappuccino and incredible views of Renosterberg. ☕⛰️

Tackle the rocky climb up Renosterberg, taking in breathtaking Karoo vistas — and keep an eye out for game along the way. 🦌

After a final water point and one last stretch of single track, cruise along the open gravel roads past the historic A.W. Barn, dating back to 1890.

One last ride. One last breath of Karoo air. One unforgettable finish. 🌾

DAY TWO | ROUTE OVERVIEW | LAMB CATEGORY 🐑
Distance: 38km | Elevation: 340m

Fast jeep tracks, bunny-hop-worthy bumps and endless Karoo scenery — Day Two is all about adventure.

Your first water point takes you to one of the Karoo’s iconic features: the windpomp. Top up your water, l**e your bike and grab a koeksister for the road. 💧
On the way back, ride straight through the Culvert — no need to get off your bike! Then tap that timing chip and finish the day with a well-earned dip in the farm dam. 💦

This isn’t just a ride. It’s the Karoo experience. 🌾

🚴‍♂️ DAY 2 | ROUTE OVERVIEW | RAM🌵
Distance: 70km | Elevation: 520m

Think fast jeep tracks, bunny-hops, wild game and classic Karoo adventure! 🏜️
Crossing the N9 towards Renosterberg, ride with caution as the route winds through neighbouring farms and around the beautiful Karoo koppies towards Water Point 1 at Rusoord. 💦

Water Point 2 at the iconic Karoo windpomp — fill up, l**e your bike and grab a koeksister for the road! 😋

On the way home, tackle the culvert, tap your timing chip and finish the adventure with a refreshing dip in the Farm Dam! 🌊

Karoo tracks. Wild game. Windpompe. Koeksisters. Day 2 has it all! 🔥

DAY 1 ROUTE OVERVIEW 🚴‍♂️🌵
Distance: 20km | Elevation: 230m

Kick off your Karoo adventure with a 20km ride that gives you a taste of what the weekend has in store. Starting from registration, riders head towards Dwarsvlei Dam, weaving through single track, culverts and up the iconic Renosterberg before a fast, twisty descent.

Choose your start time between 16:30–18:00 — ride in the afternoon or switch on your lights and experience the magic of the Karoo at sunset. Finish off with a final kicker back down past the 200-year-old stone walls. 🌅🔥
