Sunday wrap at gg's... and the dogs once again proved they run the place. 🐾☕🧇
A special welcome to all our first-time visitors!
🐕 ZAPPA (not Frank), the magnificent German Shepherd, dropped in for a little post-agility therapy session. We don't know exactly what happened, but we're confident coffee for the humans and the beef patty for Zappa were just what the doctor ordered.
🥊 ROCKY the Boxer arrived with his rather unusual best friend... LILITH, the Bearded Dragon.
We're now wondering if it's time to expand the gg's dog menu to include a reptile section. Any suggestions? 🦎😂
🐾 Little IVE, the 8-week-old Terrier, discovered that the inside of gg's is just as welcoming as the garden. For those who didn't know... yes, dogs are welcome inside too, especially when they're still figuring out this big exciting world.
🖤 Dr FUZZY, the handsome black Labrador, preferred a quieter approach to life, happily observing the action while his more outgoing companions, SHERLOCK (yes, as in Holmes) and his mum, made sure nobody missed out on the day's social activities.
💛 Then there was FLAPJACK, the 8-week-old Retriever, who is already looking remarkably comfortable as part of the gg's family. We have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of this little superstar.
🍪 And finally... FLUFFY (if we remembered your name correctly... forgive us if we didn't!) demonstrated the universal law of dog ownership:
Once a biscuit has been issued... it shall not be surrendered under any circumstances.
Thank you to everyone who joined us this weekend—our regulars, our first-timers, our four-legged VIPs, and the humans lucky enough to accompany them.
Every weekend the gg's family gets a little bigger... and we wouldn't have it any other way.

The weekend has officially begun at gg's... and it's already shaping up to be a good one. 🐾☕
First to check in yesterday was Fynn, a 9-week-old rescue pup visiting all the way from KZN. He's in town supporting his humans at the Equine Vaulting Competition, so after yesterday's practice we're wishing the whole team the very best for today's competition! 🐎👏
Fynn gave gg's absolutely everything he had... sniffed every interesting scent, greeted new friends, supervised breakfast... and then completely ran out of steam.
The result?
He had to be carried home in his bed like the little champion he is. 💤❤️
Meanwhile, at another table...
Teddy was studying the Doggie menu with great concentration, trying to decide what Axel and Chooky might enjoy. It's a tough job keeping everyone happy, but somebody has to do it.
Rolo and Bella just pulled up, they have brought their humans for a scrumptious french toast and bacon breakfast. If today is anything to go by, we're in for another fantastic weekend of coffee, waffles, burgers, happy humans and even happier dogs.
The garden is ready. The coffee is brewing. The waffles are waiting.
And the dog biscuits have been placed on high alert.

Meet Finn, our 8-month-old terrier-in-training. 🐾
Finn arrived at gg's with a mission: master the art of being a very good boy.
The official training treats were... acceptable.
But then he discovered our Vienna treats.
Training was immediately elevated to Olympic level.
"Sit?"✅ Easy.
"Stay?"✅ No problem.
"Roll over?", "Let's negotiate... another Vienna treat first."
We're not saying our Vienna treats are magical.....but Finn seems convinced they're worth working for.
Welcome to gg's, Finn. We have a feeling your training sessions are about to become a lot more successful. 🐾❤️

A slightly delayed weekend wrap-up from gg's... because we've only just finished recovering from all the tail wags. 🐾☕
Last weekend had a bit of everything...
🎉 Sam celebrated her fabulous Mexican Pink Birthday Party, complete with family, friends, and even a few horses in attendance. It's not every day our guest list includes horsepower of both the mechanical and four-legged variety!
🐶 Kay-Lee, the 5-month-old Border Collie, arrived full of curiosity, energy and enough enthusiasm to keep everyone on their toes.
❤️ Solar made a memorable first visit at just 10 weeks old. Judging by the enthusiastic tongue, gg's received the official puppy seal of approval.
☕ Rex and Charly accompanied their mum's for what was clearly a long-overdue catch-up. The coffees disappeared, the conversations flowed, and nobody seemed in a hurry to leave.
👑 Ginger stole plenty of hearts. At an incredible 18 years young, she may well be our most senior VIP visitor yet. Proof that you're never too old for a trip to gg's.
🌟 Nala, the 4-month-old Westie, decided gg's was definitely her kind of place.
🐾 Mochi the Yorkie was overheard reminding his dad that one visit simply wasn't enough. We couldn't agree more.
😎 Arya the Staffy spent part of the morning squinting into the sunshine. We're now accepting donations to the gg's Canine Sunglasses Fund.
We also celebrated the humble Belgian fry (because we all know they're not really French), with plenty of our legendary hand-cut chips disappearing into happy hands... and a few hopeful paws.
As for the many other VIPs who visited... if we didn't catch your name, we blame the excessive mingling, vigorous sniffing and general weekend excitement.

Now the question is...
What adventures, wagging tails and biscuit negotiations await us this weekend?
We can't wait to find out.

gg's announcement - International French Fries Day is on Monday the 13th…..but at gg's we've decided to celebrate it today, tomorrow and possibly all week long.
Why?
Because, as any self-respecting Belgian will tell you, they're fries, not French. 🇧🇪
To honour their rightful homeland, we're serving our legendary hand-cut (chips 🇿🇦) the way they deserve to be enjoyed... with our even more legendary Moules et Frites Belgian spicy mayo.
It's a little spicy.� It's ridiculously moreish.�..and yes, double-dipping is perfectly acceptable at gg's. We won't judge.
Come and celebrate the humble Belgian fry with us this week.
Hand-cut chips.�Our secret mayo.�🍔 Burgers.�🧇 Waffles.�☕ Coffee.�🐕 Dogs welcome.

🌿🐾 Weekend happenings at gg's... 🩷🐾🍸
Some weekends are ordinary.
This was not one of them.

Labra, our distinguished senior VIP dachshund and long-time regular, was making her official inspection rounds after successfully negotiating a bacon treat from management. As always, her dad was conducting a serious examination of the Warren Stack burger to determine exactly how something homemade can taste this good. Scientific research takes time.
One little dog. One mighty burger. Two very happy customers. 🍔❤️

Eddy our resident Belgian supporter

Hero, our 5-month-old Jedi Aussie Shepherd, mastered the ancient art of biscuit acquisition without a single bark.
"The treats will come to me..."
And somehow, they did. ✨🐕🍪

Then came a gg's first...
Casper the cat arrived on a lead, looking completely unbothered by the fact that he was breaking new ground in the garden. His brother, Snoopy, was also there and, the name give a hint, definitely not a cat. Family gatherings can be complicated. 🐈🐾

Yuri the Russian spent part of the morning trying to work out the mystery of the red balloons. Were they decorations? A secret signal? A celebration? Some questions in life are simply bigger than ourselves. 🎈🤔

And finally, our drinks menu has officially entered its CRAFT GIN - pink era.
🌹 Rosé 🌸 Cherry Blossom 🍉 Watermelon
If your drink matches the flowers in the garden, you're doing gg's properly. 🍸

Another beautiful weekend of wagging tails, happy faces, curious cats, homemade burgers, and conversations that solved absolutely nothing but somehow made the world a better place.

First-time visitor alert! 🐾✨
Meet HERO, a 5-month-old Aussie Shepherd and, apparently, a fully trained Jedi.
No barking. No jumping. No pleading.
Just a calm stare directed at the dog biscuit accompanied by the silent message:
"These are not the treats you're looking for... these are the treats you should be giving to me."
And somehow... it worked.
The Force is clearly strong with this one.
Welcome to gg's, Hero. May your water bowl stay full, your treats be plentiful, and your training in the ancient arts of Biscuit Acquisition continue successfully.

We are OPEN and operating under normal conditions.

The waffles are ready.
Breakfast is available all day.
The coffee machine has reported for duty.
The dogs are, as always, more than welcome.

And the best part?

The roads are gloriously empty.

Which means your favourite waffle destination is currently much closer than usual.
