Better late than never!
In all of yesterday’s chaos and busyness, I completely missed posting a very important milestone.
Two years ago yesterday, Marquin Brikkels joined our little team—which, up until then, was just me, his wife Hencia Brikkels , and his sister Lindsay Brikkels .
I was incredibly nervous about hiring another staff member, even though it had gotten to a point where I could no longer manage 'front of house' alone.
Having run this small business entirely on my own for so long, letting someone else in felt like a massive risk.
But from the very first day, he proved me completely wrong.
I haven't regretted it for a single second!
It feels like Marquin has been with us forever.
It might sound like a total cliché, but there is truly no better way to put it: HE IS WORTH HIS WEIGHT IN GOLD!
He is completely trustworthy and always brings the best humor and energy to the shop.
Even on the days he isn't feeling well—which I usually only find out about after the fact—he still shows up with a smile and gives it his all.
I cannot thank my lucky stars enough for the day he walked into our lives and became part of this Chapter.
Thank you, Marquin, for everything you do for us and our customers. We love you and appreciate you more than words can say! ☕✨
