⚠️UPDATE: TODAY'S PLANNED INTERRUPTION – MAINTENANCE ON WEDNESDAY 23 SEP 2026 – H.A. MORRIS SUBSTATION
⚡ This first session of critical maintenance work at H.A. Morris Substation started at 09:00 instead of the initially stated time schedule of - 08:00 to 10:00.
⚡The interruption scheduled for 15:00 to 16:00 has been cancelled.
📍Important Information:
The entire scope of work for today has been fitted into one slot.
⚡Update on Work in Progress:
The refurbished 20 MVA transformer is being placed on the plinth (platform), and preventive maintenance on 66 kV, bulk metering, and protection equipment will also be undertaken.
The supply interruption from Eskom to connect the transformer to the network will also be done.
⚠️ Widespread Outage: Interruption impact will be on Substations:
* Ashburnham • Hall Street • Midlands, and • Galeshewe.
📍The interruption is essential to improve the reliability and safety of the H.A. Morris Substation.
We apologise for the shift in schedule and for the delay in restoration of supply inconvenience, and we thank you for your patience as we carry out this important maintenance work.

⚠️ ALERT: PLANNED MAINTENANCE – H.A MORRIS SUBSTATION
⚡Sol Plaatje Municipality’s Electrical Team will conduct planned maintenance at H.A Morris Substation:
Date: Wednesday, 23 September 2026
Time: 08:00 to 10:00
Reason: The installation of a refurbished 20 MVA transformer and preventive maintenance on 66 kV, bulk metering, and protection equipment.
Other Planned interruptions:
15:00–16:00: Supply interruption from Eskom to connect the transformer to the network.
Substation to be Affected :
Ashburnham, Hall Street, Midlands, and Galeshewe.
The interruption is essential to improve the reliability and safety of the H.A Morris Substation.
Supply may be restored earlier than the stated times.
We regret the inconvenience and trust that residents will cooperate as we carry out this important important maintenance work.
