Underglaze is one of the most versatile and precise decorative mediums in ceramics.

Unlike traditional ceramic glazes, which melt, flow, and turn glossy or glassy in the kiln, underglaze behaves much more like paint or ink—it stays crisp, doesn’t run, and retains fine details exactly where you place it!

Glaze Day at Family & Friends! 🤍

When you apply a clear glaze over your painted ceramic piece, it looks like a chalky, opaque pastel coat. But don’t let the dull finish fool you. During its second journey into the kiln (the glaze firing at over 1,000°C), this powdery layer melts into a liquid glass shield.

As it cools, it transforms into a crystal-clear, glossy coat that locks in your painted colors, turns the piece completely waterproof and food-safe, and brings out every tiny detail of your artwork with a permanent shine.
