So many of you have been asking about my mama… ❤️

The truth is, she’s not doing well.

Every day is a battle, and watching someone you love slowly become so fragile is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to face. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned from this incredible woman, it’s that she’s a fighter. She has spent her whole life fighting for the people she loves, and even now, she’s still fighting.

Sometimes I find myself wondering…

Maybe… just maybe… she’s holding on because she knows a new chapter is about to begin. Maybe she wants to see one more opening day, hear the laughter in our new home, and know that everything will be okay.

I don’t know what tomorrow will bring. None of us do.

What I do know is that every extra day with her is a gift I’ll never take for granted.

So if you pray, please say a little prayer for my mama. And if you don’t, simply keep her in your thoughts.

Hope is a powerful thing… and today, we’re holding onto every bit of it. ❤️

She’s not the youngest.
She’s not perfect yet.
She needs a little TLC…

But she’s OURS.

And honestly… we’ve missed you too much to keep you waiting.

This will be a place where you don’t have to whisper.
Where laughter is loud, music plays, and you can dance freely.

A place for new memories, growing friendships, and the next chapter of our story.

We’re rolling up our sleeves and giving her the love she deserves. We’ll be renovating while open, adding touches along the way. If you see a little dust or hear a hammer, please bear with us—we’re building something special, and we’d love you to be part of it.

We are simply taking a short break while we look for the perfect new home .

We have made the decision to close our current space in Melrose Arch and take some time away — firstly to focus on family, especially our mother who is currently unwell, and secondly to take a step back and realign ourselves with the future of Parreirinha.

After 51 years of nonstop work, sacrifice, pressure, and giving everything to this industry and to people, our family has earned the right to take a breath. Sometimes life forces you to slow down and remember what truly matters.

Melrose Arch gave us many beautiful moments, incredible customers, friendships, and memories that we will always be grateful for. But if we are being truthful, it was never fully the right fit for who we are as a brand and we will NEVER change that. We’ve always believed Parreirinha needed a space with more soul, more freedom, and more room for us to create the experience we truly envisioned.

Sometimes growth doesn’t look like expanding. Sometimes it looks like pausing, reassessing, and rebuilding properly.

So for the gossipers, keyboard specialists, and the speculation — NO, Parreirinha is not shutting down. We are not disappearing. We are taking a breather, spending time where it matters most right now, and preparing for a new chapter that feels far more aligned with who we are.

Our final trading day at Melrose Arch will be the 31st of May.

To every customer, neighbour, and staff member around Melrose Arch who supported us and made us feel welcome — thank you. You carried us through some very difficult moments, and we will never forget that.

This is not the end of Parreirinha. It’s a reset.

And we’ll be back stronger, clearer, and finally in a space that feels like home.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear customer and friend, Kapil Natha or better known by us as Cap 💔

Kapil was always kind, warm, and supportive, and he will truly be missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing him. We will always remember how he brought us (Parreirinha) a cake to celebrate our 50th, a truly remarkable man. Our hearts are especially heavy knowing that over the years he also endured the heartbreaking loss of both his parents, and more recently, his brother.

We cannot begin to imagine the pain and loss his loved ones are feeling at this time. We send our deepest condolences, love, and prayers to his family and all who knew him.

May he rest in peace and may his memory always live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a truly special man Brandon Butho.

Over the many years, he was so much more than a regular customer — he was part of our restaurant family. His loyalty and unwavering support meant the world to us, and we will always be grateful for the role he played in our 50 year journey.

We will fondly remember his love for his Catemba, the pride and love he had he’s family and MFC, and the warmth and presence he brought with every visit. He had a way of making our space feel fuller, brighter, and more alive.

Death may take you from us, but the memories you gave will stay with us forever.

Our hearts go out to Nadine, Ryan Daniel Butho, family and his friends during this incredibly difficult time. May you find comfort in the beautiful memories you shared, and in knowing how deeply he was valued and appreciated by all of us.

He will be missed more than words can express.
