A National Arts Festival veteran, Anton’s music is a unique blend of genres and emotions. Don’t miss this heartwarming experience!

Kurt calls his style of music ‘Epic Folk Rock’ and his voice has been compared to those of, among others, Eddie Vedder, Chris Rea, The White Buffalo, and Leonard Cohen. Kurt has a fresh, unique sound and very compelling, deep voice. His music is gaining traction on streaming platforms and one of his songs reached number 12 on the SA Top 40 on MixFM.

The show is varied, and includes original songs by Kurt as well as songs by Leonard Cohen, Eddie Vedder, Rodriguez, Chris de Burgh, CCR and more. He will be joined by Gerrie G who is a well-known session bass player for various bands and songwriters in the Eastern Cape.

Originally from Cape Town, but now resident in Bathurst, in the Eastern Cape, Kurt has toured extensively along the garden route and up to as far as Clarens. He first began performing in South Korea between 2006 and 2014, where he played with various expat bands. After Korea he returned to Cape Town and took a short break before returning to performing in 2019.

INTUITIVE PAINTING
Hosted by Kurt Stone - A gouache workshop on harnessing the power of pareidolia.
Pareidolia is the psyche’s natural tendency to see shapes or make pictures out of randomness, such as when one sees images in clouds. In this workshop you will learn how to harness that tendency and use it to paint an intuitive landscape, with guidance from Kurt.
• Where: RED CLAY CAFE, Hogsback.
• Date and Time: 19 September, 12pm to 2pm.
• Cost: R250 for the workshop and R300 if you’d like a vegetarian curry. ALL MATERIALS PROVIDED.
• No previous experience necessary. Beginners to advanced welcome.
• The workshop is approximately two hours long, including breaks for drying times and snacks.

Join us for a show by Anne Katz and Moon 🐈‍⬛🌚 Moon is a Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist and Anne is an Accordionist/Singer. Together they have put together a show with original songs and meaningful covers by Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Nirvana, Neko Case, Echo and the Bunnymen, Iron Maiden and a poem by Ingrid Jonker. Haunting, sentimental and a little dark. 🖤
