They say in true Irish spirit you can kick back and relax at Waxy O’Connors — but last Friday, the spirit took that a step further. Old Seamus wandered in, claiming he only wanted “a quiet meal and maybe a whisper of music.”
Five minutes later he was tapping his foot. Ten minutes later he was singing along. By the time his Guinness arrived, he’d declared himself the unofficial conductor of the entire pub.
Our hearty dishes didn’t help either — once Seamus got a forkful of the stew, he insisted it was “so good it should come with a warning label.” He paired it with his pint, then with someone else’s pint, then with a drink he swore he didn’t order but “must’ve been sent by the angels.”
By the end of the night, Seamus had made three new friends, lost one shoe, and promised the whole pub he’d be back to “finish the song he started but forgot halfway through.”
And that’s Waxy’s for you — come for the meal, stay for the music, and leave with a story you definitely didn’t plan on.
