As the year draws to an end I would like to thank everyone who has followed and supported me this past year. What an adventure it has been. Little did I know at the beginning of the year what was to lie ahead. The School of Contemporary Cake Design has gone from strength to strength taking up a considerable amount of time. I was privaledged to make cakes for many wonderful people and be a small part of their celebrations. I will continue to do a few wedding cakes next year, but I will be concentrating on teaching and sugarcraft as an art form. This week has been a little bit manic, wedding cakes, workshops at the School of Contemporary Cake Design, meetings and a revamp of the School's layout! Just to add a bit of spice to life we also shot a promotional video for the diploma course. Here is the cake I made as a prop for the video, I took a design that I had used before and gave it a whole new look! Happy weekend everyone.

Something different today. Leon Heyes took this close up photo of my hands during one of our workshops. Constant use and wiring of flowers can take its toll on finger joints. A few years back my hands were so painful I thought I would have to give up cake decorating. Thankfully with rest things came right! I am very careful not to take on too much now. I'm grateful I can do the work I love.

It's the weekend! I'm going to be at Bake A Ton Pinetown doing a dem tomorrow. On Sunday I want to plant up some hanging baskets! It wonderful gardening weather at the moment so here are some flowers for you to enjoy!
