Uvongo Parkrun Historical Events: #552
From time to time, the Uvongo parkrun page will feature "On This Day" memories from Uvongo parkrun events that have taken place in the past, this with thanks to followers of the Uvongo parkrun page that have made their photographs and/or videos/reels available to be shared here.
This, the 24th of the "On This Day" featured memories is from the Uvongo parkrun event #552 which took place 1 year ago on the 23rd August 2025, and is with thanks to Bradley King.
The Uvongo parkrun event #552 attracted a field of 235 parkrunners on the day and it was noted that with it at the time nearing the end of winter with spring just around the corner, for those that enjoyed some of the benefits of running during the winter months with the lower temperatures and humdity levels, this particular event showed signs that the window of opportunity for bettering such things as their personal best times had been missed, much like our Uvongo parkrun event #605 which took place almost on the 1 year anniversary of this event, whereby we had read some comments posted by the parkrunners that took part in the event to the effect that the weather gods seemed to have forgotten that we're still in winter, giving us summer-like weather conditions with the notable increase in temperature and humidity levels, this despite it being quite a windy day.
