Evergreen River Guest Farm, Groot Marico Evergreen River Guest Farm is a privately owned farm self-catering and tenting/caravan establishment Gaborone is an approximate 2 hrs drive from Evergreen.

Evergreen River Guest Farm is a privately owned farm situated on the banks of the Groot Marico River, approximately 9 kms outside of Groot Marico (7km dirt road stretch). We are a comfortable 2 - 2,5 hrs drive from Johannesburg on the N4 Platinum Highway in the North West, between Rustenburg (90 kms) and Zeerust (48 kms). We are a self catering establishment but there are 3 restaurants within a 12 km radius from the farm. Accommodation comprises of 3 comfortable cottages, namely “Rain Lily”, “Le Butterfly” and “Star Gazer”. Karee River Camp is a camping site for offroad caravanning/tenting. Bring your own mountain/quad bikes and enjoy riding all the dirt roads in the area and surrounds. Come hike (game can be spotted on hikes in the area), swim, fish, picnic, star gaze, read, walk, pick citrus in the orchard (when in season), feed the poultry, feed the sheep, or just chill! We have 200 indigenous tree species in Groot Marico and the 2nd most bird species in S.A. We also have 7 different eco systems and are part of the Marico Biosphere. Bring your own tubes and lilo’s to enjoy the Groot Marico River that runs through the farm – and your own fishing rods to catch yellow fish, barbell and bass. The crystal clear and pristine Marico Eye (17 m deep) is 30kms away from us. Bring your scuba/snorkelling gear and maybe spend a day braaing/picnicing at the Eye. There is a substantial amount to be seen and done in and around Groot Marico and we will gladly assist with information on these activities. Our website address is www.evergreenguestfarm

And so our new project starts today...

Rob on the tractor starting to clear the new camping area for our new tented glamping site (only 1 glamping tent).

Tharina, our daughter, chose the name "The Thula Glamping Tent". "THULA" is a Zulu word and the reason she chose it is because it means :

Be at peace
Rest peacefully
Find quiet and tranquility
Be calm - there is no need to fear

It is our every intention to have our new project up and running by 1 December, 2026 - so follow us to see the progress during construction.

What awesome weather to be out and about in nature this weekend.

Our 3 cottages (Firefly, Le Butterfly and Star Gazer) are fully booked - each has its own private natural rock splash pool, fully equipped with everything needed, undercover braai areas, outdoor showers, etc.

And these videos are of the Karee River Camp site which currently has 2 camp base houses, called Sweet Thorn and River Bushwillow. Each of these are undercover with a private kitchen area, private toilet, private shower, private undercover braai and within 40m of the Groot Marico River that flows through the farm.

We are busy with a 3rd private "glamping" camp site that will have a permanent tent set up with beds, etc - so watch this space as we will post updates while under construction and it will be ready by 1 December 2026.

Welcome to our new camping guests that arrived this afternoon and trust that you all enjoy your stay with us.

This is our Karee River Camp that is within 40m of the Groot Marico River that flows through the farm.

We are 9kms outside of Groot Marico, NW and whether you come to camp for a weekend, a few days or weeks, we are also a popular stay over for guests en route to/from Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe - or elsewhere.

The camp site is wheelchair accessible and friendly, as well as pet friendly.
