The Drostdy, which was recently refurbished to award-winning standards, is a five star hotel with 48 exceptionally beautiful rooms. Stretch’s Court incorporates 31 rooms; the Ferreira precinct has seven rooms, each in their own secluded area; and Kromm’s Court has a further 10 rooms. The much acclaimed De Camdeboo restaurant at the Drostdy serves a wide selection of delicious Eastern Cape fare and

is open daily for breakfast lunch and dinner. Guests have access to many facilities, including the popular Africology Spa, a travel consultancy and information centre, a state-of-the-art gym, a choice of three swimming pools and the Imibala Art Gallery. The hotel is also a proud supporter of the SA College for Tourism and has an on-site travel consultancy and information facility.

This one is for the food-lovers.

Mosbolletjiebrood is a traditional South African sweet bread originally made with grape must instead commercial yeast. The result is a soft, pull-apart loaf with a gently sweet flavour that has been coming out of Cape and Karoo kitchens for centuries.

Join us in the Vinoteque on 28 and 29 May for an intimate dinner with Anthonij Rupert Wyne, opening with L'Ormarins Private Cuvée on arrival and moving through spiced aubergine pâté and garlic mushrooms paired with Altima Sauvignon Blanc, to the main event: A charred ribeye with herbed mash, roasted winter greens and fynbos butter, paired with a flight of Anthonij Rupert Syrah, Cape of Good Hope Syrah and Protea Shiraz.

To close, orange hazelnut truffles with meringue bark, ginger crumb and vanilla coconut ice cream, paired with L'Ormarins Muscat d'Alexandria.
