Every. Gram. Counts.
“Wait, you weigh your beans when making coffee??” 🤣
Ever made a cake by just throwing some ingredients into a bowl and hoping for the best? Didn’t think so. Making a good, consistent cup of coffee is much the same as baking a consistently good cake - it requires a recipe - the key of which is the correct ratio of one ingredient to the other.
If you’re using any kind of immersion, filter, or pour over method to drink your coffee, one simple upgrade to go from getting a good cup every now and then, to getting a good cup every time, is investing in a good quality scale and following a recipe.
Look for a scale with a rapid response time, decimal increments for a more accurate brew, and a built in timer and tare function.
Then start experimenting by changing one variable at a time until you find a sweet spot of beans to water to time, that suits your pallet!
Here it was 16g of the new release, Don Claudio, brewed in the V60 for 3mins, yielding a total brew of 320g. Sweet and fruity 👌🏼
