Since 1848 When the Tabasco chilli first became famous in Louisiana it has taken the world by storm, if I had to guess it must be the one of the most famous. The plants are prolific bearers of pods, that change from white to orange to red, it is very appealing to the eye and makes for a great addition to any garden!

I just love the purple flowers of the Hungarian black chilli, they are just so striking as are the black pods that form, almost a Jalapino shape. So great to have some so late in the season!

So who noticed the little buggers sitting on the leaves in my last post, Aphids they blend in so well! Guys just a little tip, when you see Aphids or any sap sucking insect think twice before running for the insectecide, the ones used for them are generally systemic and can stay in your plants for many months. Try getting rid of them with a little dish wash soap mixed with water before going for the harsh stuff and not being able to enjoy your harvest of chilli pods! Happy growing!
