Crazy Korean

Crazy Korean Seoulful Korean Food 🫰🏼 || ONCE IS NEVER ENOUGH ❤️‍🔥🇰🇷 It is now finally the right time to share it with the good people of Durban.

The “Crazy Korean” company has been fermenting in the back of our minds, like a good batch of kimchi, for a few years. KJ Lee arrived in South Africa in 2005, dragged by his Durban born wife Natasha Lee and their two gorgeous sons, after they had lived in Korea for a number of years. They have both been dying to introduce Korean food to South Africans for many years and are so excited to finally b

e able to do so.

“Crazy Korean aims to introduce Korean food to the Southern African Continent in a fun and creative way. Crazy Korean aims to be the number one supplier of Korean food in the region”

“If I could be anywhere right now…”

I'd be running next to the Han River.

Not because it's famous.
Not because it's beautiful.
Just because it feels familiar.

The Han River has a way of making you slow down and think. Thousands of people walk, run, cycle, eat ramen, sit with friends, or simply watch the water flow by.

This week I did a run along Durban's beachfront instead.

Different country.
Different view.
But the same feeling.

Sometimes home isn't a place.
It's a feeling you carry with you.

Until I can run beside the Han again, Durban's beach will do just fine. 😊

Where's the place you miss most when you're away from it?

Woohoo Wednesday

“I wanted only to try to live
what wanted to come out of me by itself.
Why was that so very difficult?”

— Demian

When I was younger,
I thought life would become something very big and extraordinary.

But reality became
taxes, staff schedules, running out of sticky chicken sauce,
and an endless world of washing dishes…

Yet strangely,
even in those ordinary days,
someone smiles because of our food,
someone makes a good memory,
and someone says,
“Today felt comforting.”

Maybe the thing trying to come out of me
was never about becoming someone famous or extraordinary.

Maybe it was simply
to become a person
who makes someone’s day
a little warmer.

Woohoo it’s Wednesday 🙂

It’s been a long time since I really watched a drama seriously.

Most shows feel similar these days.
Predictable stories.
Predictable emotions.

But this one was different.

The Netflix series
“We Are All Trying Here”
(“모두가 자신의 무가치함과 싸우고 있다”)

Honestly,
my favourite Korean drama of this year so far.

At some points,
it felt like my story.
At other times,
it felt like the story of people around me.

I even paused the drama a few times
just to write down certain lines.
Can’t remember the last time I did that.

The story follows a man who spent 20 years trying to become a film director.
No success.
Just quietly carrying the weight of feeling “not enough.”

And maybe that’s why it stayed with me.

These days,
I think many people are fighting the same battle.
Not money.
Not success.

Just trying to believe
they still have value.

Maybe that’s also why people still gather around warm food,
late-night conversations,
and places that feel a little less lonely.

The Golden Things Around Us

This morning,
I accidentally ended up at the beach following my wife.

And as always…
I realized how difficult it is to explain what I see and feel to other people 😅

The orange sunrise.
Buildings glowing gold.
Surfers catching waves before work.
People swimming, running, paddling.
Even the seagulls flying with wind and waves.

For a few minutes,
Durban felt unbelievably beautiful.

Maybe beauty is not rare.

Maybe we are just too busy to notice the golden things already around us.

So this week,
pause for a moment.

Look up.
Watch the sunrise.
Drink your coffee slowly.
Notice your city.
Notice your people.

And if you capture one of those golden Durban moments and share it with me,
I’ll send a few people a R50 Crazy Korean voucher 🌅🍗

Not because the photo needs to be perfect.

But because maybe life feels a little better
when we stop long enough to notice it.

It’s Not About Money

People say,
“I can’t… I don’t have money.”
But that might not the real problem.
The real problem could be
thinking it won’t work.

Maybe change the order.
Not money first.
Attitude first.

Today, just one thing:
Don’t say
“I can’t.”
Say
“How can I?”

And maybe…
start with something small.
A better choice.
A better meal.

Crazy Korean
might not change your life.
But we can change your day.
