Where do we even begin with this story… 😂
Mandy and I have officially come to the conclusion that may be heading to St John’s Retirement Village a little sooner than expected.
It all started when a crew from Kokstad called me over and asked if I could somehow organise them a Sani2c entry “on the house.” Naturally, I went over to Glen to explain the situation and see what magic he could work.
Now, this is where things took a turn…Glen came up with the brilliant idea of using a torn piece of tissue as a “voucher.” I headed back to the crew and told them they were in luck — Farmer Glen had one last voucher left in his pocket! The excitement and joy on their faces was second to none. They genuinely couldn’t believe they had secured a free entry on an old torn tissue 😮💨
Fast forward to Monday morning, and I receive a very interesting voice note from Mandy. Apparently, the crew had emailed the Sani2c team to redeem their entry… along with a photo of the “voucher.” 😭 👀
Low and behold, Mandy gave Glen a call to explain the situation. Long story short, Glen thought he was giving them a coffee voucher for my coffee stand, NOT a Sani2c entry 😂
So, as Mandy and I sat writing this little story over a cup of tea, we looked at each other and said; right either it’s the audiologist for this guy or it’s straight to St John’s Retirement Village 🤣
But in all seriousness, it was so special to see this couple on the start line; and a massive thanks to the family for giving them the opportunity to take part in such an amazing event ❤️
PS: I actually can’t completely remember what I mumbled into Farmer Glens ear.
