The South Jersey Pom-Poms are a Durban-based band that writes and performs wry, dizzying songs in German, French, Italian, and English.
Their music draws influences from Gogol Bo****lo, Lhasa, and Tom Waits, blended with elements of Americana, catchy Klezmer, punk energy, cabaret flair, and joyful mayhem. The result is an off-kilter sound that mixes a touch of sexiness, a sense of abandon, and a whole lot of heart.
The band consists of:
Jochen Zeller – Guitar & Vocals
Anton Cawthorn-Blazeby – Violin
Sean Stewart – Bass
Belinda Henwood – Accordion & Vocals
The South Jersey Pom-Poms perform regularly in and around Durban and are delighted to be making there appearance at Mandala Cafe, Botha’s Hill.
