Our favourite times to cool off by the pool
Early in the morning,
soft light, gentle water sounds, morning adhkar in the air.
Coffee poured, engines warming up for the day.
And again from 3–5pm
when the sun eases off, the pool shimmers,
and the day finally exhales.
Come enjoy your coffee with the sound of water,
slow moments, and a really good spot to just be.

📮 Transmission Break: The Florida Chronicles
Finally, it was time to epoxy the floor.
I ask Michael, “You ready? You’ve got everything to start?”
He nods. Confident. Assured.
Morning comes. We’re prepped, taped, masked, and ready to roll.
Then Michael says “There’s no hardener for the epoxy.”
It was there.
Turns out the other team of builders used it as... thinners. On their bodies. 🫠
So yes, while we hoped for a smooth move from Gordon Road to Florida, the reality looks a little more like “wait for the paint to dry” (and for the floors to harden).
We’re in that in-between space, the pause before the toast pops.
But when it does, it’ll be golden. ✨

Spring in Durban arrives quietly, bougainvillea spilling over walls- the air softer with ocean salt, mornings that feel like a fresh page.
And yet, the world outside is not so quiet. Economics, politics, the weight of reality presses in, louder than we’d wish. It makes us pause and wonder: is there still space for idealism?
Maybe it lingers in small places — a table in the courtyard, a shared sandwich, a smile that softens the day. Maybe that’s enough. Maybe that’s where hope hides.
