Heritage is found in the things we make, the food we share and the traditions that bring people together.

This Heritage Day, the fire is burning at Kardoesie.

Over the coals, we’re serving freshly made stokbrood and roosterbrood, with familiar fillings and flavours that feel right at a South African table.

There will be good food, open skies, warm fires and plenty of reasons to sit down and enjoy the day.

THE HERITAGE WEEKEND COUNTDOWN IS ON.

And today, we’re putting one of the weekend’s offerings firmly in the spotlight.

Our Curried Mince Roosterbrood brings together freshly braaied roosterbrood with a generous filling of warming curried mince, made for eating while the fire is going and the weekend is in full swing.

It’s the kind of food that feels right outdoors, shared around a table and enjoyed without rushing.

And this Thursday, it will be waiting for you at Kardoesie.

There’s something about bread baked on a stick, a fire burning and a filling of your choosing that feels unmistakably South African.

This Heritage Weekend at Kardoesie, our stokbrood will be made over the fire and served with your choice of:
-Jam and cheese
-Wors and relish
-Curried mince
