Not only is trout season in full swing, but the price has dropped too 🙌💙

We've got plenty of beautiful whole Rainbow Trout available this week, and the slightly smaller fish are actually perfect for cooking whole. Stuff them with lemon and herbs, add a k**b of butter, and pop them in the oven for an easy, impressive dinner.

Whole fish might seem intimidating, but trout is one of the easiest fish to cook — and one of the most rewarding. Crispy skin, tender flesh and very little effort 🍋🔥

📦 A Quick Note on Our Fresh Fish

All of our fresh fish is packed in 500g and 1kg packs for convenience.

We remove the skin from fish where it isn't typically eaten. From this week's selection, Tuna, Kingklip and Swordfish will be skinned before packing.

For fish with delicious edible skin, we generally leave it on unless you request otherwise. If you have a preference, please let us know in the Special Delivery Notes section when ordering or simply WhatsApp me directly and we'll happily prepare it to your liking 💙🐟

It’s Trout season again 🐟❄️

As the colder months roll in, so does one of our favourite seasonal fish. Trout harvesting season begins in winter and runs through to spring — and we’re excited to have it back in stock!

We’ve got both whole Rainbow Trout and filleted sides available, perfect for everything from simple weeknight dinners to beautiful weekend lunches.

Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is farmed locally and is on the SASSI green list, making it a delicious and more sustainable seafood choice too 🌿

🦪 Shellfish Lovers — This One’s for You 💙

We’ve got beautiful fresh mussels and freshly shucked oysters coming in for Thursday delivery, and we’re especially excited about the quality this week.

Nothing quite beats fresh shellfish, but they can be tricky little creatures. Both mussels and oysters are affected by natural algae blooms (red tide), which means farms sometimes pause harvesting — not because the shellfish die, but because eating them wouldn’t be safe.

We take extra care to check and remove any damaged or dead shellfish, so you’re only getting the freshest, best-quality product available.

💙 A very special visitor today 💙

Faith popped in to see us today with her beautiful baby boy, and it was such a lovely moment for the whole team. Both mom and baby are doing wonderfully and are enjoying some precious time together as they settle into this exciting new chapter.

It was so special for everyone to finally meet the little one — there were plenty of smiles, cuddles and proud moments all around 🥰

We’d also like to say a big thank you again to everyone who sent kind messages, well wishes and donations for Faith and her baby. Your generosity and support truly mean so much, and it’s a reminder of the amazing community we have around Ocean Jewels.

We can’t wait to have Faith back with us when she’s ready, but for now we’re so happy she’s enjoying this special time with her little boy 💙
