Cape Living Developments collaborated with local artists to purchase and redevelop old historic buildings along Albert Road in Woodstock. The buildings were redeveloped into a combined studio and retail complex, known today as The Woodstock Foundry. This new complex currently consists of two restaurants, several small office suites, retail and studio space, and a parking area with ample parking space. The Woodstock Foundry aims at catering for their clients’ every need, but primarily focuses on a clientèle consisting of artists, design professionals and those who pursue creative careers.

Heritage lives in more than old buildings.

It lives in the hands that make, the stories that are passed on, the places that gather people, and the ways each generation adds something of its own.

Here at The Woodstock Foundry, old walls sit alongside new work every day. Artists, makers, designers and independent businesses continue to shape a place with a history of making at its heart.

Today we celebrate the many people, cultures, skills and stories that make South Africa what it is, and the ones still being written.

A little heat hiding in the Foundry 🌶️

Chilli Lizzi started as a lockdown kitchen experiment and turned into the kind of relish that ends up living permanently in the fridge. Mild jalapeño, plenty of flavour, no artificial colouring or flavouring, and very much made for spooning onto basically everything.

Spring has crept into The Frame Room.

A little more colour on the walls, a little more light through the Foundry, and plenty of beautifully framed work coming through the studio. The Frame Room specialises in custom picture framing and art curation, with each piece treated as something worth keeping, not just something to hang.

It feels like the right time of year to bring something out of the cupboard and give it a proper place on the wall.
