Most of my childhood was spent in the kitchen, watching my mom and nonna use their love of food and cooking as a way to bring our rather large family together around the table. After all, the only way to quiet down 30 rambunctious Italians is to put food in their mouths. After I finished school in Johannesburg, I decided that it was time for a change of scenery so I made my way to Cape Town and I

have never looked back. When I completed my finance degree, my parents gave me the freewill to pursue whatever career my heart desired - provided it paid the bills – and it was at this point that I decided to take my passion for food a step further. As soon as my chef training ended, I packed my bags and ventured abroad to London where I worked in a bustling café under my food idol, Jamie Oliver. This experience gave me the inspiration I needed to come home and open my own café, where I could bring people together around simple, fresh and humble food inspired by both my Italian heritage and love for Jamie Oliver. I envision Giulio’s to be more than just a corner café – it’s a place of comfort. Whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee on your way to the office or looking for a cozy spot to get some work done, our door is always open.

My team and I will be taking additional measures to ensure the strictest health and safety standards are adhered to during this national crises time to prevent the spread of corona virus.

Disposal gloves are worn by all staff members, the tables, menus, trays, cutlery and crockery are adequately and consistently cleaned and sanitized. The staff are washing their hands every hour on the hour and then some in between.

We ask that all clients head straight to our bathrooms to wash and sanitize upon entering the cafe before they sit down and if you have been in the vicinity of anyone or area that may cause concern please rather order take-aways through instead.

We are working on all home meals for clients to collect and freeze and cook at home as well, so please email me on [email protected] or call the cafe to place orders.

Your loyal support will mean the world to my staff and I during this difficult time and we are here to work together with you to get through this horrible time as one family.
