Confession: I've turned into that person who audits gyms without being asked.

Did the Virgin Active round this month — Table View, Claremont, Kenilworth, Century City, Stellenbosch, Foreshore. Quick verdict:

Table View — bathrooms need a serious scrub. Mould smell and all.
Claremont — park up top and you're stuck. Only exit is down. Midday was rammed, couldn't get near a machine.
Kenilworth — easy parking, lots of space, genuinely friendly staff. Best all-rounder.
Century City — cold plunge pools. Sold.
Stellenbosch — solid gym, great view, just don't count on finding parking, and the sauna's unisex.
Foreshore — the view up there is hard to beat. The parking, less so.

Old habits die hard when checking whether businesses deliver on what they promise is your day job.

Governments are now mandating mystery guest programmes.

In May 2026, Morocco's Ministry of Tourism launched a nationwide mystery guest programme targeting approximately 2,500 classified accommodation establishments, shifting from infrastructure-based star ratings to guest-experience-centred assessments.
