What does it mean to return with the light of the changing seasons?

And what does it mean to gather in community, as we move with and relate to the world around us?

This is an invitation to join Tiisetso Makhubedu in a seasonal gathering of movement, ceremony, conversation and community, exploring Southern African ways of relating to body, umoya, land and the turning of the seasons.

Because community is not only somewhere we arrive.

It is something we practise.
Something we remember.
Something we make together.

It’s time to swing into deep rest. On Friday 17 July, we gather for Aerial Yin & Yoga Nidra with Soul Moves with Jess. The theme will be Wholehearted Living, and brings a slow, supported evening of gentle movement, deep rest, and being held by the hammock.

You’ll begin with grounding Aerial Yin to soften the body, then settle into Yoga Nidra, cocooned in the fabric, somewhere between waking and sleep.

For tired bodies, busy minds, and anyone needing to come home to themselves. Wholeheartedly.

No aerial experience needed.
Hammocks and props provided.
Spaces are limited by ceiling space.

Featuring regular Adinda Hahn, who comes because she loves what it does for her back, and who we love for her upside-down smiles.

This winter, we’re bringing Meditation in Motion indoors 🌕

Thursday 2 July, we gather in the afterglow of the Capricorn Full Moon for a special indoor edition, held in the warmth of Light House Holistic Wellbeing.

Meditation in Motion is a headphone-led group practice where ✦ sound ✦ movement ✦ presence meet.

Guided by Anna Daniela of NADA Experiences | Yoga & Movement Practices, everyone in the room moves to the same music, and yet no one moves quite the same way.
That may be the point.

Doors from 5pm. Arrive in the space, watch the last light settle over Table Mountain, and ease out of your day before we begin.

Afterwards, stay awhile.
It’s part of the experience.
A glass of Babylonstoren wine, or their Vonkeltee, light snacks, a goodie bag, and time with our Community Partners GoodBasics & Happy420 Africa 🤍

Somewhere between holding on and letting go,
there is a pause.

On Friday 26 June, we gather in the studio for another evening of Aerial Yin & Yoga Nidra. This is a slow, supported practice for tired bodies, busy minds, and nervous systems that might need a new perspective.

The hammock does what we often forget to do for ourselves:
it holds.

We’ll begin with gentle Aerial Yin, using the fabric, gravity, and stillness to soften the spine, joints, fascia, and all the places that carry.

Then, cocooned in the hammock, you’ll be guided into Yoga Nidra, a lying-down meditation often called conscious rest. A place between waking and sleep, and a deep exhale for the whole system.

All props and hammocks are provided.
Spaces are limited by hammock space.
No experience needed.

Winter has a funny way of making everything feel further away.

The gym. The plan. The friends.
And yet, this is the time to build and keep a rhythm.

A class before the city roars.
A slow flow after work.
A sauna when your bones need warming.
A coffee upstairs.
A few quiet hours on the rooftop, remembering that winter is easier when you have somewhere to go.

Before you know it, we’ll be on the beach and in the heat of summer.

This week at Light House;

↑ Morning classes begin at 7am
↑ Aerial Yoga is at 8:30am on Mondays and Wednesdays
↑ Evening flows are at 5:15pm
↑ The Winter Specials are still here, and time is running out to grab the Winter Key: unlimited everything for R1,500/month for three months. Offer ends 31 July.

Meet Koos. Regular. Works around the block, likes to come for a shower and swim after his gym workout. Sometimes joins yoga. Artist. Collaborator. Friend. Best look in rotation: his leopard print Speedo’s, worn entirely without comment, as all great things are. Leopard’s don’t ask for attention.
